All Council Road Closure & Works Enquiry

CSO:

  • Determine who is the responsible road authority:
  • Go to Intramaps and search for the address, the map is colour-coded
  • All service lanes are the responsibility of the Council

   VicRoads Owned Roads are Orange                       Council Owned Roads are White

Road Closures on Council owned roads (coloured white)

Road closures can be undertaken on council roads by the council itself, a contractor working on behalf of the Council, or another contractor working on behalf of another utilities, like United Energy, South East Water, NBN, etc

Council Works

If the council is undertaking maintenance works requiring a road closure, they will typically advise the residents affected.

Other Utilities like United Energy, South East Water, NBN

Utilities companies undertaking works in our municipality, do not require council's permission to do road works.

CSO 

  • Check with customers if they can identify who is conducting the work, e.g. Vehicle signage or asking one of the workers.
  • If it is a Utility company refer the customer to them directly.
  • if they cannot identify who is conducting the work, then call Janak Bharati, if busy/no answer email him on Janka.Bharati@cgd.vic.gov.au and he will contact the customer back.

Closure on Roads owned by VicRoads (coloured orange)

CSO:

  • Advise the customer that VicRoads is responsible for maintaining their roads
    Offer to transfer (cold transfer)or provide the number so they can call later Ph: 13 11 71, they can also report online at www.vicroads.com.au
