  • Certificate confirming microchipping
  • Valid microchipping invoice from the vet
    Note: documentation must have the microchip number recorded
  • Microchip number sticker, attached to the form
  • A letter or statutory declaration (who can sign)

Not acceptable

  • Microchip number recorded on the registration form without supporting documentation
  • A Letter from the owner saying that the animal is microchipped

What is a microchip?

Microchips are implanted under you pet's skin. They are encoded with an identification number which can be read by scanners. If your pet loses its collar and tag, Council's Animal Management Officers will still be able to contact you.

How to get a pet microchipped?

  • Most veterinary clinics can implant microchips
  • Council's Animal Management Officers can also implant microchips by appointment only. This service is available to all Greater Dandenong residents only. Yes, there is a fee for this service.
