Request to install new bus shelter

CSO

Advise

"The council acknowledges the importance of providing amenities like shelters and seating for public transport users. These facilities can encourage more people to use public transport and enhance accessibility. However, the council is not responsible for providing or operating public transport services, including bus shelters.

The installation of bus shelters depends on agreements involving the council, the Victorian Government's Department of Transport and Planning, and Ooh! Media, the bus shelter provider. Currently, there is no funding available for new shelters in Greater Dandenong. Although the Victorian Government has expressed readiness to negotiate a new agreement for bus shelters in the area, this won't begin until 2026.

The council has been advocating to the Victorian Government for funding for bus shelters and other public transport improvements. "
