The Walker Street multi-deck car park provides a mixture of long term permit parking and casual parking.
Permits available for long term parking
General and reserved permits can be purchased for 3, 6 and 12 month periods.

Apply for a new permit
Customer:
Submit:
- via email Council@cgd.vic.gov.au or in person at a Customer Service Centre or post to PO Box 200, Dandenong 3175
- Parking permit Admin will contact them within 10 business days
Renew a permit
- Renewals are processed only 2 weeks prior to the expiry date. All permits expire on 30th June, 30th September, 31st December, 31 March and 30th June.
- An SMS is sent to the permit holders advising them to renewals.

Car registration on permits
Customer:
- Advise the permit holder that Council is no longer recording car registrations on all car parking permits.They need to display the physical permit on which ever car is being used on the day.
Customer returning Air Keys
CSO:
- If customer does not have the permit number, go to P & R and locate under the permit holders name
- The permit is associated by the name
- Place the device in an envelope, write the permit number and customer name and contact number
- Hand the envelope to Vicki or Bev.
- Write on the enveloped why they are returning the airkey.
Transfer or cancelling permits
Short term or permanent transfer
Transfer of a permit is not permitted
Cancelling a permit and request a refund of the unused portion of the permit
Permit fee refunds will not be issued for unused periods of three months or less. For periods in excess of three months, an application for a refund must be submitted in writing along with supporting documentation & only the following circumstances will be considered:
- Illness (a medical certificate is required)
- Work relocation (supporting documentation from employer).
Illegal parking complaints
Reports about illegal parking within the carpark.
Like, other cars parking reserved or resident bays.
What is an Air Key and how do you use
The Council has installed security measures for a safer environment for the permit holders at Walker Street carpark.
- Iron gates starting at Level 1 (the permitted levels)
- Lift - access only to level 2 - roof with air key
- Stairwell - access only to level 2 - roof with air key
- Iron gates will be functional from the 4th of October
- the air keys are already working no need to activate
Using the device
NOTE: Do not leave the air key in your vehicle as you will need it to access the lift and stairwell when returning to your car.
1. Boom gates:
Tap the device on the black access card reader to raise the boom gate when entering and exiting.
2. Auto gate on Level 1:
To open the gates, press 1 on your device
3. Lift:
Tap the device on the black access card reader to gain access to above Level 1
4. Stairwell:
Tap the device on the black access card reader to gain access to above Level 1
