If a person seeks compensation due to damages relating to a council asset like uneven footpath, faulty park equipment, council road pothole, missing council drain lid etc.
Person initially seeking compensation
CSO:
- Complete a report first as the issue needs to be fixed or made safe
- Add a note to the report advising that a request for compensation is expected to follow.
- Advise the customer to put their request for compensation in writing by:
- email to council@cgd.vic.gov.au
- write a letter and mail to the Council Postal Address (PO Box 200, Dandeonong 3175
- drop of letter to Council Customer Service offices - All correspondence be addressed to Risk Management.
Follow up claims for damages - already submitted
If the customer is following up on the written correspondence they sent to Council but have not heard back.
