Effective immediately, Customer Service will no longer handle refunds for pet registration at the counters or over the phone. Finance made this decision because refunds must now be processed by the appropriate department.
While we can assist in determining if a refund is due, we are no longer processing it at Customer Service.
Once all required documents are submitted, processing can take up to 14 days. The Community Amenity Department will contact the customer about the refund process after they receive the documentation.
CSO:
A refund is applicable for the following reasons:
- Deceased animal
- Desexed animal
- Undergone Training, VCA/FCC Registration and Registered Breeder
- Pension card concession
A refund is not applicable for the following reason:
- Surrendered animals - a refund is not provided if they surrender their pet to Council or the animal shelters or Council Pound

This council does not transfer pet registration to another council. They will have to complete the necessary paperwork with the other Council.
We don't provide refunds either if transferring to another Council. They can check with the other Council if they will charge them a fee.
