If noxious weeds are found growing on a privately owned properties, the City of Greater Dandenong does not issue notices to have them removed.  

 

Disposal of noxious weeds

Noxious weeds can be placed in your garden waste bin. Garden waste undergoes pasteurisation, heated to high temperatures, ensuring the seeds can not germinate.

How to report noxious weeds on Council Land or Facility

For weeds located at:

  • Council owned car parks 
  • Council owned flower beds
  • Footpaths
  • Reserves
  • Council owned drains
  • Parks and Reserves

Report noxious weeds on private land (not owned by Council)

The council does not enforce the removal of noxious weeds on privately owned land
 

Land owned by other authorities

Advise the customer to contact the other authorities directly to report the issue. ​​​​​​​

Customer's own land

Advise the customer that the Council is not responsible for managing noxious weeds on privately owned land. It is the property owner's responsibility to address the issue.

They should seek advice from a local garden centre regarding effective weed control methods and preventative measures.
