Food Labelling Concerns Report

All food sold must have a clear label, in English, describing the nature of the food, the country of origin, the Australian importers details, the nutritional information of the food, any warnings such as caution – packed on a processing line with nut products and the use - by or best before date.

Use by date -  is the date perishable food should be consumed
Best before date - advice that the food is likely to have less quality after the best before date
Re-labelling - some business’s re-label or place their label over the original label. It may be the manner in which the business places a correct Australian Standards label onto an imported food product
