How to Report Fire Hydrants on Council owned streets, nature strips and parks

If the report is related to:

  • Leaking fire hydrant

  • Broken cap or repair

  • General maintenance 

CSO

  • Advise the customer that Fire Hydrants located on council-owned nature strips are the responsibility of South East Water to maintain. 
  • South East Water does not have a phone number for reports, only online reporting is available.

    Email this Report Faults and Issues link to the customer if they wish to report.

How to report hydrants on private properties & land, streets owned by other authorities

If the report is related to:

  • Leaking fire hydrant

  • Broken cap or repair

  • General maintenance 

CSO

  • Advise the customer that Fire Hydrants located on private property or land owned by other authorities are the responsibility of the owner
  • They can report it directly to the owner. The council will not be able to provide details of the owner of private properties due to the privacy act.

 

Other authorities 

Depending on who that might be, advise the customer to Google search that authority to check the process of reporting to them.
