Residents with Special Needs - Waste

If a resident under extreme circumstances is unable to take their bin out or bring it back in after collection

JJ's Waste and Recycling may be willing to assist them. It will be assessed by them so do not guarantee this will happen.

How to enter a report

Complete Merit

Rubbish>Service issue> Special Needs
Advise customer a member from the Waste Services Unit will contact them within 3 working days with the outcome

Ask and record in the description of Merit

Brief description of the special requirements for this resident

If a resident has a medical condition that requires an additional bin at no charge

A waste application form is not required.

Customer:

To provide a medical certificate/letter from the doctor advising how their medical condition requires an additional bin free of charge.
They can send the medical certificate with a brief explanation regarding the request if they are emailing or posting it.

If they present in person at our service centers with the medical certificate

CSO:

Enter report as per the process below
Write the merit number on the certificate
Scan to CSSupport
