Stolen or Missing Residential Rubbish Bin Reports

Verify if the resident is paying the garbage levy. 

CSO:

  • Go to "Property & Rating"  and search property via Property Enquiry.
  • Then Summary > Attributes
  • Check the current bin option for the property. If the property changed its bin option during a financial year, two current options might be listed. Click on each option link to see the start and end dates.

Paying garbage levy, shared bins on Property

CSO:

  • Advise the customer that a report needs to be taken
  • Enter a report Rubbish>Missing Bin>Shared Bins
  • Waste Services will investigate and communicate with the customer within 3 working days    

Private Garbage Collection

CSO: 

  • Advise the customer they need to contact their private garbage service
  • They are not paying for a garbage service with Council

Paying garbage levy with property

How to return the Statutory Declaration document

  • In person at a customer service center
  • Via post

Processing competed statutory declarations

After confirming that the household has Council bins

Counter

CSO:

  1. Check that the stat dec is completed correctly Statutory Declaration for Missing Bins
  2. Complete Merit: 
  3. Rubbish > Missing Bin (Green Garden) > select function 120ltr, 240ltr or Shared bins
    Rubbish>Missing Bin (Red Garbage) > select function 120ltr, 80ltr or Shared bins
    Rubbish>Missing Bin (Yellow Recycle) > select function 240ltr,120ltr or Shared bins
     
  4. Enter in the description box any questions the customer requires answered or if they request a call back from Waste Services
     
  5. Complete the office box on stat dec and scan to CSSupport 
  6. Advise delivery times for this request

Phone

Replacement bins request can't be processed over the phone. Residents must complete a statutory declaration before a bin replacement can be processed.

  • Email stat dec to customer after checking if they are paying a garbage levy

SSS and Merit Correspondence

CSO:

  1. Check that the stat dec is completed correctly Statutory Declaration for Missing Bins

  3. Enter in the description box any questions the customer requires answered or if they request a call back from Waste Services
  4. Catelogue the request in Objective as per naming convention

Delivery time for the bins

After the stat declaration has been submitted and processed.

For standard households, expect delivery within three working days. 

For shared bin arrangements, a member of the Waste Team will get in touch to arrange a delivery time.

The replacement bin will be placed on the nature strip.

Do they have a private service or is it a Commercial or Industrial property?

If they don't have a council bin, the following might also apply:

Private service

If you see that the property has a private collection, it means the Council doesn't provide bins

Residents should contact their garbage service provider. The council doesn't retain records of private services used by residents.
 

Commercial or industrial property

The Council only provides bins to residential properties. If a shop with attached living accommodations requires bins, the same replacement process is for Council bins.

Who in Customer Service can witness a statutory declaration?

Customer service to witness and sign the following statutory declaration ONLY. 

  • Missing bins
  • Missing parking permits 
  • Missing/lost air keys for Walker Street and Balmoral Ave

The criteria for a Customer Service staff member to sign:

  • Permanent employees with 5 or more years of continuous service with a Council. 
    (*If you do not meet the criteria, ask your Centre Supervisor to sign or a staff member in the Call Centre. If none of the people you work with meet the criteria, the customer will need to select another option for who can sign).

  1. Field: Declared by: Customer who's named on the stat dec to sign here in front of you.  
  2. CSO: Complete the sections highlighted in yellow.
  3. Important: Date stamp as this then completes the other fields in the form. Make sure you can see the date and centre when you stamp the document
