Burning off is generally not permitted due to the negative environmental and amenity impacts. Refuse and waste is to be disposed of by other means.
In the extremely rare circumstances, where no other means are available, a burning off permit may be considered.
Note: A permit will not be issued during a declared fire danger period.
Before lodging a permit application
Before lodging a permit application, the applicant must first discuss the situation and reason for burning off with the Council's Fire Prevention Officer. The site must be inspected by them and they will make the decision on whether a permit will be issued.
If they decide to issue a permit, they will send the customer the application form. The form and fee can then be lodged and paid.
