What can be collected and recycled?

The following types of products and devices can be disposed of at the collection bins at all the Customer Service Centre:

  • Mobile phones & accessories
  • Household light globes
  • Household batteries only
  • CDs & Dvds

IMPORTANT:

  • Customer Service Staff must not open the station to allow customers to dispose of oversized items in the bins, such as floodlight bulbs, tubes, or NBN batteries, under any circumstances.

  • Customer Service Staff should avoid removing items stuck in the chute of Ecoactive bins if doing so requires excessive force, as it may lead to injury or worsen an existing issue/injury.

How to prepare for a collection?

Centre Supervisors will complete this task. In their absence, position 1 will be responsible to complete the task.

  • Batteries to be sealed in the plastic bag provided for this purpose

  • Light bulb box and CD/DVD to be sealed in the plastic liner with a cable tie and securely taped to the end of the box.

  • Mobile phone bag to be sealed with the cable tie provided.

After you have prepared the above bags, place them in the following location:

Parkmore
under the Disabled Counter near the front exit

Dandenong and Springvale Hub
Place in the safe room

When will the items be collected?

You do not need to organise a collection. All Customer Service Centre will be visited by a staff member from Waste Management every Friday.
They will take the items back to the Operations Centre.

Battery bags: These bags will be replenished every Friday when they do a collection.
