New Pet Registration Receipt - Microchip Not Provided

Important information

  • All cats and dogs being registered with Council for the first time must be microchipped before they can be registered unless payment is made at the time of registration for Council's Animal Management team to do it.

Council's rangers offer a service to microchip animals

Conditions:

  • No discount for any concession card holders
  • Must reside in the City of Greater Dandenong
  • Check Pet Registration form has been completed
  • Highlight on the application that microchip documents have not been provided

Ask the customer if they have a Pension Concession card or Gold TPI card. If they wish the Ranger can implant the chip for the animal (This offer is not available to Health Care cardholders or other residents that do not have the eligible cards).

Yes - Ranger to microchip pet

  • Go to 'Property and Rating', receipt payment:
    for microchipping to GL- /ACmicrochips and for new pet registration (instructions)
  • Complete Merit request: Animal > Microchipping Request (complete the user-defined fields) 
  • Check acceptable proof provided for a reduced fee and photocopy it
  • Photocopy the pension card
  • Write a new tag number on the application form and on all other documentation
  • Receipt in 'Property and Rating' instructions (Payment Methods)
    If the animal is under 3 months, the registration is free 
  • Note: Enter the tag number only in the notes field of the receipt
  • Complete the office box the application form and photocopy the application form and all relevant documents

Counter

  • Date stamp documents and scan to Records 
  • Provide customer with the tag, receipt and copy of application

      Phone

      Advise the customer that this payment cannot be processed over the phone. They will need to submit an application

      No - Customer to organise microchip

      Customer advises that they will get the animal microchipped. 

      Counter

      • Complete office use box (tick 'NOT' processed) and photocopy the application form
      • Do not take payment and do not issue tag
      • Date stamp documents and scan to Records
      • Customer to receive a copy of the application and information sheet regarding providing microchip details within 7 days

      Mail

       

      • Mail out the copy of application form and information sheet regarding providing microchip details within 7 days
      • File any documentation received in the Objective tray

      • Certificate confirming microchipping
      • Valid microchipping invoice from the vet - documentation must have microchip number recorded
      • Microchip number sticker, must be attached to the form

      Not acceptable:

      • Microchip number recorded on the registration form without supporting documentation
      • A letter or statutory declaration from the owner of the pet
