- Retrieve animal records. Go to 'Property and Rating' and search via animal ID or address where the animal lives
- Ask the customer to confirm the details of ownership. Also confirm with they know some of the details of the animal, like the name of the pet, breed, colour, etc
- After you are satisfied you are speaking with the owner of the pet, and while you are in the animal record, enter the old stage in the 'Previous Number Field and enter the new tag number in the 'License Number Field'
- Provide the customer with the new tag (no fee for replacement tag)

- While you are in the animal record, enter the old tag in the 'Previous Number Field' and enter the new tag number in the 'License Number Field'
- Post the new tag along with a With Compliment Slip to inform the customer. Include a brief explanation on the slip, such as: "Enclosed is the new tag for your pet (use the pet's name if provided or the animal ID number, or both)."
